H&M Autumn Winter 2013

I went to the H&M Press Day this week to view the AW13 Collection, and what a beaut it was!

Modern drama with a tomboy spirit is at the heart of this collection. First presented on the catwalk of Paris Fashion Week, it is set to debut in around 200 stores worldwide  and online from September 5th.

The collection mixes tailoring with glamour to create contrasts. Military tailcoats create a dramatic silhouette while a variety of delicate sequin dresses add faded grandeur.
Extra shine comes from the sequins and fringing giving the collection a Great Gatsby feel.

Bohemia comes from a heavily embroidered velvet jacket, while chunky knitwear brings winter comfort.

Accessories complete the contrasting mood with stacking-rings for every finger and stud earrings for a punk feel. Biker boots or flat shoes add a fresh twist along with tassel belts, embroidered collars and vintage-inspired bags.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THESE SEQUIN EMBELLISHED TROUSERS!

I also really WANT this structured skirt.

Winter is not complete with out a great faux fur coat

Beyoncé for H&M unveiled

The rumour's have been circulating for months since one of the global superstar's dancers let slip on Twitter that they were in the Bahamas shooting for H&M, but now it is official.

The all round entertainer will appear in television and print ads featuring pieces from the Sweedish High Street chains summer collection. The ads will introduce "Beyoncé as Mrs.Carter in H&M", the idea is that all women can be all things: strong, vulnerable, sensual, maternal, fun and flirtatious.

"I've always liked H&M's focus of fun and affordable fashion. I really loved the concept we collaborated on to explore the different emotions of women represented by the four elements - fire, water, earth and wind. It was a beautiful shoot on a tropical island. It felt more like making a video than a commercial," says Beyoncé.

In the campaign Beyoncé is wearing key pieces from H&M that you need for a life in the sun, they include a bodycon dress, statement flowing sun dresses, and bikinis.

Ann-Sofie Johansson, Head of Design at the company said "What makes these pieces even more special is that Beyoncé herself had input into the design, and they are full of her own personal style"

One of the swimwear pieces, the tie-dye bikini is from this summer's H&M for Water Collection, a collection they do once a year in which 25% of sales will be donated to WaterAid.

The campaign was shot by photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, whilst the commercial element was directed by Jonas Akerlund and features a new song from Beyoncé named 'Standing On The Sun'
The full edited version of the commercial will be available to view online at hm.com from the beginning of May.
The clothing will also be available from early May, in stores worldwide and online.

This ties in nicely for the artist who kicks off another world tour 'The Mrs. Carter Show' this April, for which I still don't have tickets. Boo.
I will have to settle for a piece of the collection instead.

A week in Sunny London..

A confessed sun worshiper, I have been loving the weather this week... (when I'm not stuck in the basement office at work or travelling on the sweaty tube that is.)
I finally been able to wear some of my summer buys that have been collecting dust in the wardrobe this week.
Hope you have all have a sunshine filled week too. Long may it stay. xoxo

Happy Times

I love a long Bank Holiday weekend, and although the weather hasn't been great I wasn't going to let that stop me from having a great weekend seeing and spending time with my closest friends and people I love.

It was bound to start well seeing as Friday was my last day at work, I was pleasantly surprised with a big beautiful bunch of flowers that were delivered at lunch time. (I'm a sucker for flower bouquets).

Saturday I spent Spring Cleaning and having a huge clear out, then FINALLY got round to watching 'Friends with Benefits' with my friend Georgina and a HUGE bar of Galaxy... Perfect!

On Sunday I grabbed a Carvery with two of my best friends, one who has the most gorgeous baby boy Archie who is now One and kept us all on our toes as he is now walking. I am sure he loves the girly shopping trips really even though he kept trying to run away!

Sunday evening had been arranged for a reunion with my old work friends from H&M, just a few quiet drinks at our local, but it was lovely to catch up and see everyone. I wore, my staple Black Jeans & Blazer combo with my Tupac vest... I grabbed this in Ibiza last year and love it.

Finally today, I met up with my cousin for a pre Ibiza shopping trip at Westfield Stratford,  I have been buying clothes for towards this for quite some time now, but still managed to find more today. H&M's Fashion Against Aids collection has lots of fab pieces that will look great!
It was also the first time I ever tried Wagamama's (I was a Wagamama virgin) but I will definitely be returning.

Ibiza wardrobe coming along nicely with new purchases today.

Tomorrow I start my new internship at Exposure PR, I can't wait to get stuck in, so tonight I will be getting an early night and preparing for the morning.

Also I would just like to say Thank you for the lovely kind comments on my last post
I have been offered a job trial at Ibiza Rocks, however when I went to apply for a NIE (kind of like a Spanish National Insurance number) it cost about £300 so that idea went out the window.
I am now going to work really hard at Exposure and see where it gets me :).

"Never Under Estimate the Power of Social Media"

Today I attended the Fashion and Beauty Summit (#FB_Summit) arranged by Fashion Insight and held at ROSL, St.James Street in London. Seminars were heavily based on PR, and Social Media and how to create your own. There were talks from the founder of Wahanda, Marie Claire, A Suit That Fits and Mumsnet
I am a bit of a social media obsessed freak as much as I hate to admit it, I am included in the 70% that check their Twitter and Facebook first thing in the morning before my feet even touch the ground, and one of the 21% who wake up in the middle of the night and check it, so found it all rather interesting.

It was also nice to get out of the office for the day, so I even dressed up a bit.

What I wore: Blazer -Topshop, Trousers - Forever 21, Shirt - H&M, Shoes - Topshop, Earrings - Topshop, Necklace - Vintage, Sunglasses - Aldo.

Chanel Dolly

So I've gone for a more delicate lady-like look today rather than the High Tops and Leggings I've been living in.
I LOVE these spotty tights I bought recently from H&M, they make me feel like a little dolly, and the Cardigan also from H&M, is very Chanel inspired, especially when teamed with a simple Pearl Necklace like I wore today - making me feel like a little Chanel Dolly.

Mac - H&M, Tights - H&M, Cardigan - H&M, Pumps - Topshop.
