The Nike Clubhouse

As an attendee of the Nike Training Club as mentioned in a previous post, I was very excited to hear the news that Nike has opened the Nike + FuelStation at Clapham Common.
A digitally enabled sporting clubhouse designed to inspire London's athlete community to #MakeItCount.

Located on the South side of Clapham Common, the FuelStation brings premium experiences and services directly to Athletes of London, and motivating them to be more active throughout the day.

Designed in-house by the Nike Brand Design team, the space is 384 square metres, and combines futuristic design and architecture with sustainable features as well as the digitally enabled interior.

The space and services covers a range of experiences;
  • One-to-one consultation with real athletes who are hand selected from the local communities.
  • A Nike + innovation zone; a digitally enabled space which  brings to like Nike+ experiences and allows runners to join Nikeplus.com and be part of the worlds largest running community.
  • A Nike+ Trail Zone where you can try out the latest Nike+ Digital Sports products for FREE including Nike+ Running, Football, and Training footwear, Fuel bands and the Nike Training Club app.
  • NIKEiD terminals where you can design your own footwear and apparel (this is my favourite - the amount of hours I have spent designing my own trainers online)
  • Dedicated and FREE daily Nike Training Club classes led by top Nike Master Trainers (speaking from experience - be prepared - they do not go easy on you)
What I love about this, is that it brings the community together, and it is so much more enjoyable working out with others who have the same aim, as you can all encourage and inspire each other.

There are a range of classes available at different times, that you can simply attend by signing up on the Facebook pages.

I'm bringing Sporty back...

Anyone who know's me well will tell you I am the most un-sportiest, laziest person. Ever. I couldn't give two hoots about the up-coming Olympics and I even once said 'I don't do activities' a quote that always gets bought up against me and has haunted me since.

However this week I have never been so active! Partly due to the mini heatwave we had I agreed to go swimming with a friend on Monday.... I don't mind swimming, I just don't enjoy public pools (I have every excuse under the sun to avoid exercise). But I'll admit I enjoyed it and came out feeling fresh.

So then on Thursday when I was invited to a work out event by Nike, I thought I'd give it a go... Seeing as I am interning for them now I thought why not. I got to choose a whole new kit and work out trainers (which I love).

It is actually an event run by Nike from their flagship store on Regents St. that anyone can attend, you just sign up via their Facebook page here. Named the Nike Training Club, it is a women's fitness community, who offer expertise, inspiration and motivation and its FREE!!
They have even been known to hold special events such as one a few weeks ago, where they did a work out session in Altitude 360 in the Milbank Tower whilst Katy B performed.

I won't lie, I found it hard, the warm up was grilling enough for me... a 15 minute to run to Regents Park where we continued with drill sessions (I told you I was unfit ok.) But I really did enjoy myself. Having suffered with stress and depression, they do say exercise is a good cure and I couldn't agree more.
I can't wait for a session they have coming up soon... Hip Hop Yoga!!

And what a better incentive than being able to choose a new pair of trainers courtesy of Nike.

My new Nike Training Free XT Motion Fit Trainers.

What I'm wearing: Top - Sass & Bide, Leggings - unknown - Trainers - Nike.

I continued the Sporty theme in to the weekend by going to watch some the boys I know play a charity football tournament at the West Ham grounds. They didn't quite make it through to the finals but did get  to the semi's. Well done boys!

Watch The Throne

After weeks of waiting last night finally arrived... Watch The Throne.
I booked tickets as soon as they came out, so last nights show was originally meant to be the opening night, but we still couldn't of have picked a better night.

Seeing a few tweets from Rihanna yesterday morning saying "Missed my flight" and "Jay Z just saved my life" so as soon as I heard the opening line of 'Run This Town' of what sounded live I knew it had to be her, and out she came.
As if seeing Jay Z and Kanye West wasn't sick enough, watching the three of them perform together live made it even better!

I can definitely say that the show lives up to the anticipation and hype surrounding it. From the laser light shows, to them performing their individual material as well as the A-list celebrities who have been attending each night.
I was hoping to see Kimmy K or Beyonce but no such luck, the boys I was with saw an Arsenal and England football player 'The Ox' which went straight over my head.

So having a special appearance from Rihanna and an encore of 'Nigga's in Paris' SIX times, (I heard they only done it three or four times at previous shows) made it a brilliant night.

Yeezy - "Yo seriously want it again? In the history of concerts no ones ever played the same song six mother fucking times.... Ok... We're gunna skate to one song and one song only"

THAT SHIT CRAY

What I wore: Crop Top - River Island, Wet Look Leggings - Jane Norman, Trainers - Nike, London Necklace - Vintage, Cross Earrings - Topshop.
